DKA most commonly occurs in individuals with type 1 diabetes but can also affect those with type 2 diabetes, particularly during periods of insulin deficiency or increased insulin resistance. This abstract provides an overview of the key aspects of diabetic ketoacidosis, including its pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management.
In conclusion, diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious metabolic emergency associated with uncontrolled diabetes, characterized by hyperglycemia, ketosis, and metabolic acidosis.
