Rahali Lawali,
In the olden days, healthcare workers were routinely checking the vital signs of the hospitalized patients using instruments that were operated manually, but today such instruments were considered to be outdated, because of the advancement in science and technology.
Hence, with the contributions of Biomedical Engineers, healthcare workers were able to replace the outdated instruments with modern instruments.
For Example, Mercury Thermometer Was Currently Replaced By Digital Thermometer For Simplicity, Flexibility, Efficiency And Accuracy.
Inversely, in the history of human illnesses, there is nothing like outdated diseases or the number of such diseases is insignificance: malaria still exist, typhoid still exist, hypertension still exist, diabetes still exist, cancer still exist, and they keep on increasing day by day.
Also, the occurrences of new diseases when the oldest diseases are defeated bring about uncertainties in our healthcare system.
