Anxiety disorders in youth and young adults represent a pervasive and challenging aspect of mental health. This
article explores the prevalence, contributing factors, and the impact of anxiety disorders on the transitional phase
from adolescence to adulthood. Various types of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
and social anxiety disorder are examined. Biological and environmental factors, neurochemical imbalances, and
the influence of social media and peer interactions are discussed as contributors to these disorders. The challenges
faced by young individuals, such as academic performance, social relationships, and potential substance abuse, are
highlighted. The article also explores effective therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
and mindfulness-based approaches, as well as the role of family and social support. Recognizing the importance
of education and awareness programs in mitigating stigma and fostering early intervention, the abstract concludes
by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach to address anxiety disorders in youth and young adults.
